Almirahs, both big and small, were a staple piece in almost all Indian households. Found in the northern state of Rajasthan, this piece is over 60 years old. It may have been used to house fresh produce, seasonal grain or piles of folded kantha. It was handcrafted from solid teak, and has since been polished in a natural wax. What sets this piece apart from others of its kind are the ornate legs upon which it rests, that subtly nod to British Colonial design.
