'This painting was inspired by the cycles of the moon and thus was titled 'Travel with Dhawara', which means moon in the Dhurga language, which is the local language of the Yuin Nation.

The larger circle represents Dhawara. The glow/halo and energy is being given from Dhawara and connecting with country, different meeting places and people. The moons halos are a type of optical phemomenom, like rainbows or mirages in the desert. The flannel flowers represent the growth and strength that Dhawara radiates. The smaller circles represent meeting places, and the paths depict the journeys that we make. The background has a story in itself, showing the layers of country and community.'

Milumba Arts is an Aboriginal Art Studio located on Yuin Country on the South East coast of Australia.  Milumba’s work draws inspiration from her Elders,  life experiences, emotions, feelings, natural objects and forms found on country. Milumba is the word for Shine in our local Dhurga language.
